Midway acquires Austrian EKRO Bausystem through HAKI

Midway Holding, through its largest subsidiary HAKI, has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in the Austrian company EKRO Bausystem GmbH, effective October 4, 2022. EKRO Bausystem complements the group's business area Safe Access Solutions in an excellent way with solutions for safe work on temporary workplaces and provides opportunities for geographical expansion towards the German-speaking part of Europe, primarily the Austrian market.

EKRO Bausystem manufactures and sells products for work at temporary workplaces with Austria as the largest market. The company's turnover for 2021 amounted to approximately SEK 150 million. EKRO Bausystem was founded in 1949 and today has offices, production and warehouses in Krieglach south of Vienna. The number of employees is 60.

It is gratifying that we managed to complete our second acquisition of the year and through EKRO Bausystem take another important step in focusing on and developing the Safe Access Solutions business area. The acquisition is completely in line with our existing operations within the business area and is another important step in our journey towards an industrial group.

- Thomas Schüller, HAKI's CEO

We see good synergy opportunities on the cost side, primarily through opportunities for a joint supply chain with other businesses in the Safe Access Solutions business area. It is with great pleasure that we welcome the employees of EKRO Bausystems to the HAKI family.

EKRO Bausystem is a very good complement to the other activities within Safe Access Solutions, says Thomas Schüller. The acquisition provides interesting opportunities for product synergies as well as a strategically important broadening of our market to Central Europe with opportunities for further geographical expansion.

We are very happy to become part of Midway Holding and look forward to contributing to the group's development within Safe Access Solutions. I am convinced that through our and Midway Holding's broad product portfolio we will have the opportunity to create even more value for our customers and thus better conditions for continued profitable growth.

- Martin Rinnhofer, CEO of EKRO Bausystems
