Bridge System to the ferry terminal in Helsingborg

HAKI took on the challenge of delivering a temporary access solution for the Oceanhamnen construction project at the ferry terminal in Helsingborg, which links Sweden with Helsingør in Denmark.

This very popular ferry route that crosses the Öresund is used extensively by happy Swedes and Danes as well as tourists.

Ensures a secure access solution

Due to the ferry's timetable with departures every 20 minutes, a cost-effective access solution and a very short installation time were important in order not to disturb the traffic at the terminal, which was not to be affected by the assembly.

Great focus on efficient time in the project was prioritized by the client Ställningsbolaget Sydställning in their choice of a supplier who could offer the best technical solution on the market. HAKI is always ready to deliver a stable and safe product with two 18 meter free-hanging bridges. This design provides a safe walkway for residents and ferry travelers between the new Ocean Harbor area and the ferry terminal.

The concept and solution were presented to PEAB by HAKI's technical sales engineer Dennis Ragnar, who calculated and offered the work together with Sydställning's Daniel Nilsson.

To ensure a safe access route, HAKI's market-leading Temporary Bridge System (HBS) together with HAKI's Public Stairs (PAS) were the perfect choice.

Minimal disruption

HAKI Bridge system is created to perfectly accommodate walkways for small and large infrastructure projects. The system, fully developed according to European standards, is designed for loads up to 7.5kN/m2. The same applies to the public stair system (PAS). The system with its various solutions can be assembled by site construction, crane assembly or rolled out on site to meet all the requirements of a project. As part of the Universal system, HAKI's Shoring system has been used to support the high weight of the construction. With this concept, the work is minimised to cause the least possible disruption to the ongoing business.

HAKI gave us the technical support we needed in this project. We required delivery of a temporary bridge solution that is of high quality, efficient and most of all safe. We were able to meet our client after HAKI met these requirements, which was a prerequisite for making this time-sensitive delivery to the project.

Good quality and long life

The project will last up to a year until the permanent bridge is assembled and ready. HAKI's solutions last several years thanks to routine checks during the project schedule.

With HAKI's temporary access solution that provides safe entry to and from the Helsingborg terminal, residents and travelers can move freely between the port and the growing area of Oceanhamnen. Operations in the port, which maintains the important connection between Sweden and neighbouring Denmark, are not affected.
