Stair System

HAKI Stairs offer safe access solutions to comply with regulations for working at height. They are robust enough to handle even the toughest jobs and can be used for all areas, from building construction to offshore.

The HAKI Stair System allows for construction of a wide range of applications and uses:

Stair Tower

The market-leading HAKI Stair Tower is a flexible system that can be configured in a variety of arrangements – including clockwise and anti-clockwise ascents, parallel, twin stair flights and with entrances and exits in all directions. The stair tower can also be suspended with the addition of suspension devices. This makes the system ideal for use in a vast range of markets, from building construction, through to oil and gas and offshore environments.

The system is built with bay widths of 1655mm, bay lengths of 3050mm and with 2.0m, 1.5m and 1.0m between lifts. It has a 4kN/m² loading class but for high stair towers and when the standard load is extremely high, the HAKI Tripod can be used as a base that can allow loads of up to 50 kN in a stair tower.

This temporary access solution is recognised by industry bodies such as the Considerate Constructors Scheme, as a suggested replacement for ladders to provide safer access and egress on sites. All HAKI stairs have an anti-slip surface as standard for maximum safety. HAKI’s unique ‘hook-on’ locking catch system makes the Stair Tower safe and quick to install.

HAKI Public Access Stair (PAS)

HAKI PAS (Public Access Stair) is a strong, safe and comprehensive solution for temporary public stairs that has been on the market since 2013. It is ideal for the public but also for professionals as well as emergency exits.

With stair widths up to 2.5m and loadings up to 7.5 kN/m², the PAS can handle high volumes of footfall, accommodating up to approximately 36 people per lift at any one time. The steel structure is robust, making it an ideal temporary access solution in public spaces like railway stations, airports, sports stadiums, and schools. PAS also fits well with the HAKI Bridge System.

PAS utilises many of the main components of HAKI Universal that allows configurations of various structures. It uses solid steel decking with an anti-slip surface, child-proof adjustable handrails and a unique and safe locking system that prevents components from being unlocked.

In line with the UK’s leading standards, the HAKI PAS complies with current building regulations to ensure the safety of people when gaining access to, and moving about in, buildings.

HAKI Compact Stair

HAKI Compact Stair is an approved access route in accordance with British scaffolding standards that can be used when a standard size stair tower is too large. It can be used as a complement to an internal ladder or replace the ladder as a safer solution inside a scaffold where space is at a premium. Only 0.6m in width, the compact design can be installed inside the scaffolding, outside as a tower or as an independent stair tower.

The Compact Stair is made from prefabricated components for Light Duty Environments and can be used in conjunction with HAKI Universal and traditional tube and fitting scaffolding.

It is erected with bay widths of 1250 mm, bay lengths of 2500mm and with 1500mm or 1000mm between lifts. The updated access solution MK2 Compact Stair has a high 4kN/m² load capacity and allows for safe and comfortable access with side and end exits.
